My thoughts on community tourism: Authenticity has become the new currency in travel with an ever-increasing number of travellers looking to have immersive, meaningful experiences in the places they visit. In order meet this growing market demand and become sustainable, a paradigm shift is required in which communities become the focal point, drivers, and direct beneficiaries of tourism management and development.

Rethinking tourism so the locals actually benefit from hosting visitors. The process of local communities inviting, receiving and hosting visitors in their local community, for a limited time duration, with the intention of receiving benefits from such actions.
